About Us
Barry Wiesner has a Masters Degree in Environmental Management from the University of Cape Town and has extensive experience on a wide variety of projects. Barry is a member of the International Association for Impact Assessment (South Africa) (“ IAIAsa”).
Barry Wiesner completed a BA majoring in Archaeology and Environmental and Geographical Science at the University of Cape Town. He also has a Higher Diploma in Education (HDE) and a Bachelor of Theology from the University of South Africa.
Barry has extensive site experience working as an Environmental Control Officer at major construction sites and in conducting EIAs, BARs and the compilation of numerous EMPs. Barry coordinated AMATHEMBA’s involvement with the initial SMART Living Handbook for the City of Cape Town.
Barry is a Green Star SA accredited professional with the Green Building Council of South Africa.
Chandré de Waard has an Honours in Environmental Science from the Northwest University (2014), and over 8 years’ experience working in Environmental Compliance Monitoring in renewable energy, mining and oil and gas industries. Chandré is a member of the International Association for Impact Assessment of South Africa (IAIAsa), she is also a standard member of the Environmental Law Association of South Africa (ELA).
Chandré has extensive experience in compliance monitoring on large scale renewable energy projects, specifically wind. Her specific experience relates to enforcing and assessing environmental compliance to Environmental Authorisations, assessing and ensuring compliance to the EMPrs and addressing legal non-compliances. Chandre also has experience with Water Use Licenses, General Authorisations, Air Emissions Licenses and ISO 14001:2015 implementation. Chandré is passionate about the natural environment and enjoys spending time appreciating nature!
